JULY/AUGUST NEWS!

Hi everyone! Aren't we lucky with the weather at the moment?!

So the most recent Pony Club Competition was the Show Jumping Competition in the May Half Term, which was full of thrills and spills (the spills part provided by yours truly!) Everyone seemed to enjoy the new class - Bucket Elimination which required both skills and good balance. The horses must have wondered exactly what us riders were asking them to do, as it was all very different from a normal show jump! As always the Puissance was really exciting, with the jump getting higher each round. Dique, Fraser, Webb and Dinky all have prior experience of this fun, but sometimes scary, challenge. I always think this class is a real test of trust between horse and rider. Well done to the other three girls who won the Pony Club Rosettes from this competition (Abi Clue & Webb, Ella Guimaraens & Polo, and Zoe Barnett & Dinky). Well done also to Daniel Winnett & Squirrel and Phoebe McCall & Pebbles for winning the Best Turned Out Rosettes for the day!

The Evening Competitions have been well supported by Lavant House Pony Club Members (see pictures of all our Pony Club Members who competed in the Evening Show Jumping Competition on 25th June below)

& From Jane:

Sorry we missed out a month, July, partly due to our being slightly late submitting our articles and then Lucy's holiday!

Apology of the month! When planning the "Test Days" a crucial mistake was made, by me, and the West Sussex school term dates were not checked before deciding on Thursday 2nd September for the first "Day". One of the big problems, when looking for suitable dates for the "Test Days", was that the calendar was already packed out with Camps, the Pony Club Show and the ODE. If you are at all interested in taking your next Test later in the year, whether it is E,D,D+,C or C+, then please tell Karris in the office(letting her know if you are available on the proposed dates) and we will do all we can to fit everyone in.

On a more positive note please pencil the following date in your diaries and on your calendars- Saturday 18th September, for the first Lavant House Pony Club Centre end of year celebration and presentation. Lauren Annalls, our Pony Club staff member, will be in charge of proceedings. The event will start with a presentation of all the cups won during the year, plus other new awards and a certificate for all our members who have attended our rallies and competitions this year. In the past cups have been presented either at events or, as last year for the annual league table cup, when not many people were there to join in and celebrate with the winners. This year any cups won during the summer, such as at the Pony Club Show and the One Day Event, will be re-presented on 18th September. It would be great to have all our winners together and have a group photo marking your success. The presentations will be followed by the opportunity to stay and chat with staff and other Pony Club families over drinks and nibbles. Further details to follow.

The programmes for the Pony Club Show and ODE are now available. Do pick up a copy of each and have a look, let's hope these events will be as well supported as our other competitions this year! As always if you are unsure about which classes to enter do ask your instructor for advice.
